About

Hi welcome to our very public spending journal.
We are a youngish family of four (2 adults, and 2 toddlers) living in one of the more costly suburbs of Vancouver BC, we are trying to save for a house and God willing for early retirement. In order to accomplish this we use coupons as much as possible, shop the sales, stock up on good deals and buy many things second hand and out of season from the clearance rack. My only goal for this blog is to show how a family of four trying to be frugal spends money. I take pictures of my deals that I'm proud of, I don't know if that's odd but telling people about your great deal isn't as interesting as showing someone your great deal.
A big part of our family saving money is to make things at home and from scratch more often, in this blog I'll be sharing some recipes, I'm not a very good cook but I'm learning and as far as baking goes, I'm constantly improving. I have a lot of goals when it comes to food and living a simple life, but the tug of consumerism is strong and I find myself in a constant battle, as I'm sure it is with many people. I have a tendency to contradict myself at times.
Take the good to benefit your family and leave any bad expensive impulse spending.
